On Saturday, 2/22 the Quaker Wrestling Program sent two wrestlers to the MHSAA Wrestling Regionals at Grandville HS. Great job by senior, Ali Ali, for upsetting the #12 seeded wrestler at the 160 weight class. Ali battled hard and made it to the blood rounds, but just missed out on qualifying for the State Finals.
This past weekend the Quaker Wrestling program participated in the MHSAA Individual Districts and will send two wrestlers to the MHSAA Individual Regional Tournament. On February 5th the wrestling program honored their seniors before their match vs city rival, Everett. Eastern dominated the mat and won the dual 53-22. The Quakers won their wrestling match against cross town rival, Lansing Sexton 42-25, to open up the season on Wednesday, 12/11 @ Eastern HS. Highlights 119 Weight Class- Freshman, Jumer Tarassoum got through for the opening takedown quickly and ran over his opponent to nearly pin him in the first 40 seconds of his match. 125
